For centuries, to shame female sexuality and pleasure has been one of the mayor religious and ideological forms of dominance over women. A “shameless” expression of female sexuality never goes unnoticed and it often is an open invitation to humiliation, embarrassment and violence. Nonetheless, today’s femininity, allows for attributes and behaviours that permit an expression of “contained” female sexuality, curated through advertising and media: To be feminine is to be sexy but not sexual… the later is still shameful. Touch! Aims to provoke the viewer into realising just how uncomfortable does the open expression of female sexual pleasure can make him/her feel.
